Common Concerns
and
Breastfeeding Questions

When I became a mom I knew I wanted the best for my baby. I get a little stressed out when I'm not sure how to make the right choice for him.

Having breastfeeding questions is just the way it is when you are a Mother. You want to be perfect and to do things just right for your baby. We now know that Breastfeeding is best for you and your baby but maybe you’ve heard some things about nursing that sound a little scary… Are they true?

Here are some common concerns and breastfeeding questions that moms often ask…

  • How do I know my baby is getting enough milk?
  • I have small breasts, does that means I will have less milk?
  • I have big breasts I am worried my baby won’t be able to breathe when he nurses?
  • Does it hurt to nurse?
  • Will my breasts look saggy after nursing or will I have stretch marks?
  • Isn’t it embarrassing to nurse in public?
  • Is it possible to breastfeed and work?
  • Do I need to avoid certain foods?
  • What if my baby has cholic or gas?
  • What if my baby is allergic to my milk?
  • Is it possible to breastfeed with inverted nipples? After breast surgery or if I have a Piecing?
  • Isn’t my husband going to feel jealous or left out?
  • If I am sick should I stop nursing?
  • How do I deal with critics?

"When we trust the makers of baby formula more than we do our own ability to nourish our babies,
we lose a chance to claim an aspect of our power as women.
Thinking that baby formula is as good as breast milk is
believing that thirty years of technology is superior to three million years of nature's evolution.
Countless women have regained trust in their bodies through nursing their children,
even if they weren't sure at first that they could do it.
It is an act of female power, and I think of it as feminism in its purest form."
    Christine Northrup
